The children found tying the wool a little tricky, but worked well with their partner and persevered.

Unicorns have covered the topic of the Stone Age this half term. Whilst in forest school, the children have looked at the different Stone Age houses and how they were built along with the tools that may have been used. The children then built miniature Stone Age houses thinking about where people would sleep and how they may have cooked food.

Unicorns had a very wet visit to forest school but it didn’t stop them from completing the task of making Stone Age drawings and paintings using symbols and markings.

Unicorns have also planted broad beans into pots. We are now waiting patiently for them to grow so that we can plant them out into the vegetable patch.

On Unicorns latest visit to forest school they looked at how the broad beans had changed since they were planted. They discovered that the roots on the broad bean grow down faster than the stem that grows up. The children then made frames for the beans to climb/grow up ready for when we plant them in the vegetable plot.

Have a look at what we have been doing.
