Griffins and Unicorns embarked on an evacuee experience. The children went to the Bury transport museum and learnt about coins, artifacts, clothes and air raid shelters. They then went to Bury art museum, where they looked at lots of different sources from WW2.

The children then walked to the train station and boarded the steam train. The children ate their lunch and then arrived at Rawtenstall station, ready for the billeting experience. The children were picked by members of the public to stay with them during their time as an evacuee.

The children really enjoyed the trip and especially enjoyed the journey home on the steam train.

We even had many of Griffins and Unicorns dressing up as an evacuee, they looked like real life evacuees.
