Do you like writing or would you like to improve your writing skills? Do you like to win prizes? If so, please read on for more details about our headteacher’s writing challenge.
Our writing challenge has changed this year. Each month, you will be given a different theme which you can write about through a range of genres. For example if the theme is heroes, you could write a story about a super hero, research a ‘hero’ from the past and write an information text about them or write an acrostic or kenning poem. Visit our school website where you will find tips for writing different genres in our English section or ask your teacher for ideas.
You can enter by writing in the comment box at the bottom of this page or alternatively on paper and hand this to your class teacher. Mrs Howard will then read all the entries and choose a winner. This will be announced in our celebration assembly at the end of the month and the winner will receive a prize and certificate and have their writing displayed on our ‘writing wonder wall’. All children from reception through to year 6 are welcome to take part.
You can apply as many times as you like and for every entry made, names will go into a prize draw for a special award at the end of each term. Remember the more entries sent in, the greater chance of winning our end of term draw! Mrs Howard is looking forward to reading your fantastic entries.
December’s Writing Challenge Topic is ‘Wild Weather’ and the closing date is Wednesday 16th
