Welcome to Mighty oaks!
My name is Mrs Lee and I am the class teacher in Mighty Oaks. I have been a teacher for 20 years and have worked at St Paul’s for 8 years. Whilst at school, I have worked in both the infants and juniors and it has been fantastic to teach so many pupils throughout school. As well as teaching full time in Year 6, I am also the Junior Unit head. So every day is always a busy day!
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my husband and my two boys. I also like talking my dog, Koko on long walks. Not in the rain though!
Our class is also supported by Miss Poston (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and Mrs Nolan each Wednesday who covers my leadership and PPA time.
If you do have any questions or queries about Year 6, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
This half term we have been learning about WW2. In Forest School, we used the idea of an Alderson shelter to design and build our own using the natural environment.
We also looked at the impact of ‘The Blitz’ during the second world war and created some fantastic art work to reflect this.
In science, we have been looking at evolution and the way that humans and animal have adapted to the environment they live in. We investigated how birds use their beaks to collect different food sources.
We also met our ‘Seeds’ for the first time. A lovely time was had by all sharing and reading books.
