Meet the Teachers

My name is Miss Cavaney and I have been a teacher for twelve years.  I have predominately worked in the Early Years but also have experience of working with children with SEND.  I love teaching and spending time with my little boy.

This year in Acorns, we are supported by Mrs Alvarez (Class TA),  Mrs Kelly (Class TA) and Mrs Smith (supporting School Readiness and Nurture). My PPA and Management Time will be covered by Mrs Alvarez and Mrs Smith.

Picture News

EYFS Picture News – One of the things we use in class is ‘Picture News’. This helps children to think about the world around them and promotes speaking and listening skills.

Have a look at the page here and have a go at home:

Rememberance Day

We shared a ppt with the children about Rememberance Day and then we shared the CBeebies Poppy animation. The children were moved by this video and talked with great description about their feelings.

We aslo made some poppies. We hope you like them.
