Meet the Teachers

My name is Miss Cavaney and I have been a teacher for fifteen years.  I have predominately worked in the Early Years but also have experience of working with children with SEND.  I love teaching and spending time with my little boy.

This year in Acorns, we are supported by Mrs Alvarez (Class TA) and Mrs Smith (Class TA). My PPA and Management Time will be covered by Mrs Alvarez.

We use leading lines

In school we teach children how to write using leading lines in Reception with the aim that they will start joining letters in Year 1. Please have a look at the picture below.

Reading at home

We love reading stories at school and we hope that you do at home. At the beginning of the year we send out a helpful hints sheet for our you. This helps you with questions that you can ask and how you do can do a book walkthrough.
